101 Things

Leadership is more art than science.

Because every person is unique including those of us who think we have things dialed in.

Of course we don't but that assumption is yet another variable - another rogue brush stroke in the painting - that both distracts from what we think we are aiming at and simultaneously adds flavor to what inevitably will be.

There's no formula, just tools. You can copy a Monet painting but that won't make you Monet. You can copy someone else's leadership activity but that won't make you that particular leader.

You have to embrace the messiness, effort, and focus required to create what you want and even be content that is comes out maybe 80% of what you intended.

With that said, I'm an artist and a builder. And this list reflects an artist's mindset towards leadership.

101 actionable things.
Along with other commentary on a visually appealing 14-page layout that will elevate your leadership as much as any long form book.
And you're not even paying $20 for this one.

A few of my favorites:

  • Read every correspondence as if the author is smiling.
  • Ask "How" 10X more than "What."
  • Question a leadership cliché once a week.
  • Measure what you value, don't value what you can measure.
  • So "no" more often and don't feel the need to justify it.

But you have plenty more where these came from. And additional commentary around some of them to stretch your perspective.
